4C Solutions AS (4CS) has been awarded a significant contract with Saipem for delivery of lifting frames to the offshore emergency pipeline repair system (EPRS) for the Dolphin Energy’s subsea Export Pipeline from Qatar to the United Arab Emirates.

This 48-inch 364-kilometer pipeline, which transports processed dry gas from Qatar, is the largest and longest gas pipeline in the Middle East. It connects Dolphin Energy’s Ras Laffan Gas Processing Plant in Qatar with its Receiving Facilities at Taweelah, Abu Dhabi.

The contract includes design, fabrication and testing of the pipeline lifting frames which will be one of the main components in the new Dolphin Energy EPRS system.

The contract was signed at the beginning of December and the work has already started with delivery planned for end of 2017

“We are delighted to win this contract” David Cooke, Managing Director of 4C Solutions, says.

“We will be using experience gained from our extensive involvement with the Norwegian Pipeline Repair System operated by Statoil and we are really looking forward to working with Saipem and Dolphin Energy on this project to deliver this important component in the Dolphin Energy EPRS system, which would only be deployed in the event of emergency, for the offshore pipelines. The key personnel within 4CS have worked with EPRS development and deliveries for 30 years and this contract is important for us to promote the newly formed company 4C Solutions as the major global EPC supplier in the subsea repair, structures and tooling market”.
